Auto insurance bill came in and it increased! Common sense tells us if we maintain a good driving record, the insurance will go down annually.
I was not happy and called to find out why and check if I can get some discount.
They said such increase resulted from a rate adjustment for multiple insurance from 17% to 15%. This changes applies to all state farm offices.
Home insurance will be due June for next period and the premium will be published in Apr or May. It is not clear if it will go up or down.
Up to June 2012, I can have an accident free discount on top of good driving record, which brings a 15 to 20 dollar decrease in auto insurance premium.
So conclusion:
1. It is not a big increase and this premium payment will extend my auto policy to next June, which line with my home insurance. I have checked both next year and see if I need to leave state farm.
